The Newt
The Royal Navy Medical Club are delighted to bring our members together in the picturesque grounds of the Newt for a summer garden party and BBQ in the heart of the West Country.
This idyllic venue is the vision of Chelsea Flower Show sponsors Koos Bekker and Karen Roos who, from the ruins of a Roman Villa, have delicately developed the grounds into a working country estate with lush gardens, dense woodlands and a cyder mill. Guests will be received with welcome drinks and the freedom to explore the Roman inspired gardens with refreshing Somerset cyder pressed on-site. We hope as many of our members will be available to attend as possible and guests are welcomed.
Accommodation: Those who wish, have the option to stay at the 5* boutique Georgian Manor House located within the expansive grounds of the Newt. Locally, the Somerset villages of Castle Carey and Wincanton offer affordable hotel, bed and breakfast options within easy reach. Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton is also situated just a short drive away.
Timings: Guests may arrive anytime from 1800 onwards. Carriages 2350. Transportation from RNAS Yeovilton will be scoped in due course, if interested in this option, please indicate this on your booking.
Rig: The Newt is an relaxing and peaceful venue, guests are therefore invited to dress accordingly and embrace a slower pace. There is no requirement for jacket’s, ties, or formal dresses but please no jeans or t-shirts.

Blood Red Dinner 2022 - The Royal Yacht Britannia
The Royal Navy Medical Club is delighted to invite members and guests to a night aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia in the wonderful city of Edinburgh. For over forty years The Royal Yacht proudly served The Royal Family across the globe. Sailing over one million miles, and undertaking 968 official visits, the vessel became the most famous ship on the high seas before her decommissioning in 1997.

A red carpet welcome via the Royal Brow, previously reserved for The Queen and Royal Family
Arrival reception in the State Drawing Room and music from Royal Yacht Britannia’s original grand piano
Optional guided tour of Britannia
4 Course dinner prepared onboard and served in either the State Dining Room or the Royal Deck.
Exclusive access to the yacht until close at 2350
Location and timings
The Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed at The Ocean Terminal, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 6JJ. The terminal is approximately a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Edinburgh City Centre. Members who wish to tour the vessel should arrive in good time.

Officers: 2Bs with club cummerbunds or equivalent. Miniatures can be worn.
Guests: Black tie/full-length evening dress with shoulders covered.
Notes
A guest list will be held by welcome staff and no physical tickets are issued. RNMC members may invite a single guest. Tickets cancelled up to 7 days before the event will be refunded in full. Any cancellation requests received within 7 days of the event will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
Tickets for dining in the State Dining Room are now sold out. Tickets for the Royal Deck are limited and can be purchased by visiting the RNMC shop.

RNMC Dinner at The In & Out Naval and Military Club - 12 November 2021.
In a slight break from tradition following COVID-19, the RNMC will be hosting a special dinner for club members. Many 20/21 leavers may not have had the opportunity to enjoy a mess dinner before departing the RN, so this is an opportunity to get back together with colleagues, celebrate, and if so wished don your mess dress.
The dinner is open to all RNMS members, but initial priority (in the first week of open bookings) will be given to those who have left service during COVID. We are limited to a maximum of 160 people, so we will initially invite you to bring one guest (but will let you know if we are able to extend this to other guests, on a first-come-first-served basis).
We plan to return to the formal Blood Red Dinners in the Autumn of 2022 (all Rtd RNMS members will be entitled to attend).
We will be hosting this dinner at the In & Out Naval and Military Club.

On arrival you will be welcomed by a drinks reception, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner, with accompanying drinks. On completion of the dinner, we will move to the Cowdray Room for a cash bar until midnight.
A cloakroom will be available for guests.
The venue has advised us there is no additional accommodation available on this date, however, there are many local options.
Rig: 2Bs with club cummerbunds or equivalent (full-length evening dress, on the shoulders). Those who have left since Mar 20, are welcome to wear their 2Bs if desired. Or alternatively, you are welcome to wear black tie/full-length evening dress on the shoulders. Miniatures can be worn.
Autumn Function 2021
This will be the first RNMC function since the Blood Red Dinner at the Painted Hall, Greenwich, in Oct 2019. We look forward to welcoming those old and new friends.
Location: Institute of Naval Medicine, Crescent Road, Alverstoke, PO12 2DL.
Timings: 1830 - 2345.

Blood Red Dinner at the Painted Hall, Greenwich- Friday 11 October 2019
The RNMC are delighted to announce tickets are now available for Blood Red Dinner 2019. This will be the first RNMC dinner at the Painted Hall in Greenwich since 2014 and it promises to be a special night.
Please note:
1. We have limited spaces of 240 people for the popular boat transfer to Greenwich, so book early to avoid disappointment. If you do wish undertake the boat transfer you can join us at the Old Royal Naval College for the Blood Red Dinner at 1900. Previously we have sold over 330 tickets for this event so we expect there to be high demand.
2. Tickets will be limited to 2 per RNMC member initially. We will announce the availability of additional tickets through our Facebook group dependant on sales.
On arrival at Greenwich you will be welcomed with drinks in the Queen Mary Undercroft providing the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues. The chapel has been opened for us for you to explore prior to sitting for the dinner as you wish.
There will be a delicious three course dinner, with accompanying drinks, in the historic and newly restored Painted Hall.
On completion of the dinner you and your guests will be able to continue socialising in the Queen Mary Undercroft, before carriages at midnight.
For those wishing to enjoy a return boat transfer along the river Thames from central London we have hired the newly refurbished Golden Jubilee to transport us to Greenwich. You’ll be met with a glass of fizz for the transit to Greenwich and be able enjoy the journey, all while you take in the sites of London at night. If you are particularly thirsty on either leg of the journey there are two bars onboard. Details of departures below.
A cloakroom is available at Greenwich.
The Queen Mary Undercroft has a bar available, and this will be open before and after the dinner.

Summer Function 2019
By kind permission of the Commanding Officer, this year’s RNMC Summer Function will take place at the INM to celebrate its 50th Jubilee with live music, a fabulous menu, plenty of refreshments, and, of course, great company.
Tickets: You can purchase event tickets and reserve your space on the bus by visiting the Shop (click here).
Dress: Dog Robbers/ equivalent. (Taken from BRNC’s Mess Rules, Dog Robbers is defined as: Smart Jacket or Blazer, with a shirt and trousers/ chinos and a tie). The RNMC Tie and pocket square can be purchased online (click here) and collected at the event.
Transport: A bus has been arrange to collect and drop off at: HMS Nelson, HMS Collingwood, HMS Sultan, Fort Blockhouse and INM. You can reserve your seat when you purchase your ticket.
